The Flint Hills Nature Trail uses the old Missouri Pacific Railroad mile markers. They are posted here and on the trail to an approximation. Volunteers have used old remaining markers, maps, and gps to approximate the locations along the trail. They have routered new mile markers and began installing them along the trail. Since the line originally began in another state, the numbers here reflect the distance from that starting point.
